There is an increased role for private money in the stewardship of land, water and nature in Wales. Ecosystems Knowledge Network is supporting all the professionals who have a role in making this deliver positive outcomes for the people and businesses of Wales.

Key Resources

In March 2023, a series of workshop events took place across Wales, where stakeholders came together to explore how different revenue streams – public, philanthropic, charitable and private – can work together to finance the sustainable management of natural resources.

Organised by the Ecosystems Knowledge Network together with the Pumlumon Project, the sessions were designed for stakeholders from all sectors who are interested in working together to develop effective approaches in Wales, featuring presentations from Welsh Government, Finance Earth, Banc Cambria and the Farmers’ Union.

Financing an Environment for Wales

The Financing an Environment for Wales Leaders’ Summit in Newtown took place on 7th October 2025; setting a collective approach to financial innovation for land, water and nature.
