The RHS has been running the Campaign for School Gardening for over a decade, and 50% of UK schools are signed up and growing with their young people. Many member schools take part in the School Gardening Awards which are free, focus on gardening for wellbeing and the environment, and provide resources to support schools as they develop their gardening and growing.
The National Education Nature Park programme works alongside the Campaign for School Gardening to connect young people to nature and understand what opportunities for biodiversity there are on their school grounds. Through the Nature Park, schools can map and monitor the biodiversity they have, and make a positive difference to their own and nature’s future. Both programmes offer a wealth of free resources to get young people outside, connecting with their school grounds and growing.
