The integration of green spaces in university campuses is crucial for promoting the wellbeing of students and staff. This can involve incorporating accessible green spaces, plant filled study spaces, and gardens to create moments to engage with nature that reduces stress and enhance cognitive function. This has simultaneous positive environmental impacts, such as mitigating the urban heat island effect and improving air quality. PhD researcher, Samuel Baffour Kyei is joining us to share how greenspaces at UWE are changing to support better student mental health.

Small and Mighty Together

Join us to network and discover impactful initiatives contributing to a better environment. This programme of online events across the year is separated into two themes; Restoring Nature Locally (coming soon), and Education, Wellbeing and Nature. We are creating a network of people with passion for these topics. That includes volunteers, students and professionals. Featuring talks from inspiring projects, these events are designed to put local inspiration in the spotlight and provide an opportunity to network online.

Make connections with people from across the UK working in a similar area to you. Whether you’re just starting out or a seasoned professional, together we can share experience and support the advancement the stewardship of land, water and nature throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Please note this is the first event in this format ahead of the full launch in 2024.
