It is led by Natural England, working in partnership with Environment Agency, Forestry Commission and Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, Wakehurst.
Nature Returns is supporting six projects across England to deliver land use change at landscape scale and empowering them to evaluate the risks and opportunities presented by blending private and public finance.
Programme scientists from Natural England and RBG Kew, Wakehurst are using pioneering techniques at these project sites to measure carbon sequestration and storage across a broad range of habitats. This will help build the evidence base to inform land use decision making and emerging carbon markets.
