Managing Environmental Change at the Rural-Urban Fringe

This interdisciplinary project explores the management of the rural-urban fringe through a transdisciplinary approach uniting spatial planning and the ecosystems approach. The project’s empirical work is focused on two rural-urban fringe case study areas (Hampton, Peterborough and north Worcestershire) and eight workshop events. Drawing on extensive stakeholder and practitioner engagement the project proposes three different lenses (time, values and connections) within which to engage more effectively within these complex and valued environments.
