Introducing our Silver Sponsors

IUCN Urban Alliance

The IUCN, or International Union for Conservation of Nature, was founded in 1948 and has since evolved into the world’s largest and most diverse environmental network. It harnesses the experience, resources and reach of its 1,300 Member organisations – comprising both governments and NGOs – as well as input from 14,500 experts. The IUCN Urban Alliance is a new venture, established at the behest of IUCN Members and with the support of Arcadia – a charitable fund of Lisbet Rausing and Peter Baldwin. It comprises a coalition of IUCN constituents working to ensure that nature thrives in cities, delivering effective solutions to pressing urban challenges. In its initial phase of development, the Alliance seeks to provide a platform for debate and knowledge exchange on urban dimensions of nature conservation, catalyse new projects and partnerships for greener cities, and develop an ‘Urban Nature Index’ to help cities take stock of their natural capital.
