In this issue, we look at the range of tools available that can help us make the connection between the environment and society. We feature several tools that have been used in the UK, including the Toolkit for Ecosystem Service Site-based Assessment (TESSA) and EcoServ-GIS.
The Ecosystems Knowledge Network has published a report that outlines the challenges and opportunities for application of the ecosystem approach at the landscape scale. This was based on interviews with 13 initiatives operating across landscape areas in the UK, including National Parks, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and other 'one-off' initiatives.
The report can be accessed at http://ecosystemsknowledge.net/resources/review-2015-landscape-scale
